About
An advisor that remembers what you decided.
ChiefBoard is an AI strategic advisor built for CEOs, founders and owner-operators. It answers business questions with specific numbers and next steps, records the decisions you make, and carries them into every later conversation. It was founded in 2026 by Lucas Gruber and is operated from Friedberg, Germany.
Why it exists
Running a company means deciding things alone. Whether to raise prices when churn is already uncomfortable. Whether to match a counter-offer from an engineer you cannot afford to lose. Whether the next five thousand euros goes into ads or into hiring. There is rarely a board to bring these to, and asking a friend usually produces sympathy rather than a second opinion.
ChiefBoard started because its founder kept making those calls with nothing to test them against. General AI tools were an obvious place to turn, and they failed in two specific ways. They agreed with whatever was proposed, because agreement is the path of least resistance. And they forgot everything, so the same context had to be explained again every single time, and a decision made in spring left no trace by autumn.
So the product was built around the two gaps. ChiefBoard holds a profile of your business, so its answers are about your situation rather than about businesses in general. And it keeps a record of what you decided, so it can point out when a new plan contradicts an old one. An advisor who forgets your last conversation is not an advisor.
What it does
- Answers with numbers
- Questions about pricing, hiring, cash, marketing and strategy come back with concrete figures, the reasoning behind them, and action items you can start on today.
- Remembers decisions
- Save an answer to the Decision Ledger with a chosen path, an owner and a review date. Later conversations reference it, and flag contradictions with it.
- Reads your documents
- Upload reports, contracts or pitch decks and ask questions against their actual contents.
- Schedules the review
- Every decision can carry a review date, exportable as PDF and subscribable as a calendar feed, so a call made under pressure gets revisited on purpose.
- Disagrees when warranted
- If the numbers do not support the plan, the answer says so. A yes that costs nothing is worth nothing.
The founder
Lucas Gruber founded ChiefBoard in 2026 and builds it from Friedberg, Germany. He works on the product, the model behaviour and the business himself, which is also how most of the questions ChiefBoard is designed to answer end up on his own desk first.
The perspective the product is built from is a specific one. Not the large company with a strategy function and a management team, but the founder and the small operator, where one pricing decision moves the whole year and there is nobody in the building whose job it is to argue back. Every feature gets judged against that: does it help somebody decide something real, this week, with the information they actually have.
That is also why ChiefBoard is deliberately not a chatbot with a business skin on it. The chat is a way in. The thing being built is the record of what a company decided and why, which is the part that compounds.

How it is built
ChiefBoard runs on Anthropic’s Claude API. Your business profile and your decisions are stored so the product can do its job, and they belong to you: you can edit or delete a business and its entire decision history at any time. What happens to your data is set out in the privacy policy.
ChiefBoard is guidance, not professional advice. It does not replace a lawyer, an accountant or a licensed financial advisor, and it should not be used as though it does.
Common questions
What is ChiefBoard?
ChiefBoard is an AI strategic advisor built for CEOs, founders and owner-operators. It answers business questions using a stored profile of your company, and it records the decisions you make so later conversations can build on them.
Who is ChiefBoard for?
Founders and managing directors of small and mid-sized companies who make decisions without a board, a co-founder or a management team to test their thinking against.
How is ChiefBoard different from a general AI assistant?
Two things. It keeps a business profile, so answers reference your industry, stage, team size and goals instead of staying generic. And it keeps a Decision Ledger, so a decision you recorded in March is still present in a conversation in September, including when a new plan contradicts it.
